England vs. Cameroon live stream: Watch the World Cup online
England play Cameroon on Sunday, June 23 at the Stade du Hainaut, Valenciennes, France. Here’s all you need to know about the game.
England and Cameroon meet for the first time at a World Cup to contest a place in the quarter finals of the Women’s World Cup. England emerged from their pre-tournament group of death unscathed, taking maxium points from Scotland, Argentina and 2011 World Champions Japan. It’s the first time an English soccer team have taken nine points from nine at a World Cup since the men’s team did so in 1982, though the Lionesses will be keen to avoid the second round exit their male counterparts suffered in Spain.
Cameroon, meanwhile, were lucky to escape Group E having looked far less impressive than fellow third-place battler, New Zealand, across their two games against Canada and the Netherlands. However, a dramatic victory over the Ferns gave Cameroon the last third place qualification spot setting up Sunday’s clash.
African sides have a miserable records against Europeans, having only won two matches in Women’s World Cup history. Cameroon were one of the AFCON nations to triumph over UEFA sides at a World Cup beating Switzerland in the 2015 World Cup group stages and they will need to call upon that spirit as well as plenty of luck if they wish to deny England a fourth consecutive appearance at the quarter final stages.
The game between England and Cameroon will be broadcast live on Fox. Live streaming is available on Fox Sports Go, which you can access with your cable or satellite subscriptions, either online or through the app.
