MLW Fusion is the fastest, rawest pro wrestling show on television. So why aren’t you watching?

In an era where pro wrestling has become less sport than entertainment, Major League Wrestling is providing a legitimate alternative to WWE’s shenanigans on USA. However, based on the most recent episode, featuring an insane loser-leaves-town match between Mance Warner and Sami Callihan, most hardcore wrestling fans aren’t watching. The real question is, why not?

MLW is a promotion that harkens back to the wild days of territory wrestling, where rowdy characters would come into town and wreak havoc. That’s not to say this an old-man product. MLW embraces modern sensibilities, showcasing some of the best talents in the world with backgrounds in lucha, hardcore, traditional scientific and even MMA.

No promotion offers a more eclectic roster. Imagine if ECW had the chance to grow up and evolve past its more problematic elements. And it’s all available for free on its weekly show, MLW Fusion.

You won’t find dance routines or nonsensical storylines. What you will find is a hard-hitting sports show with an edge. Everything that AEW aspires to be is already there in MLW.

You’ll also meet arguably the most legitimate World Champion in the game, in former UFC star-turned grappler Filthy Tom Lawlor, a rougher-around-the-edges version of Matt Riddle. MLW also features the dangerous heel faction running roughshod over the company, Contra UNIT.

The devastating trio of Joseph Samael (a fire-throwing, 21st century reincarnation of the original Sheik), Jacob Fatu (imagine Umaga with the all pedigree but also an actual savage instead of a Vince McMahon-created cartoon savage) and Simon Gotch (free from his turn-of-the-century strongman gimmick and reborn as a Sandinista) have taken MLW by storm.

MLW also boasts the latest incarnation of professional wrestling royalty in the Hart Foundation 2.0 (Teddy Hart, Davey Boy Smith Jr. and Brian Pillman Jr.), the Von Erichs (Kevin’s highly underrated sons Ross and Marshall) and El Hijo Del L.A. Park (the son of the legendary La Parka, who’s also here as LA Park).

Plus, MLW might have the very best young manager and promoter in the business, the beautiful and dangerous Selina de la Renta, who has already produced episodes of Fusion, marking a true milestone in professional wrestling.

On top of it all, MLW is also a home to the breakout heel performer of 2019, MJF.

MLW Fusion is an exciting, episodic television program where the fighters wage war for money and power, under the watch of promoter and impresario Court Bauer, a former WWE writer turned loose. And it’s all free every week on their YouTube channel in addition to BeIn Sports on television..

If you like your wrestling a little more violent, a little more outlaw, check out a show that can best be summed up as the twisted lovechild of Bill Watts’ Mid-South and Lucha Underground. And again, it’s all right there at a click for free on YouTube.

The world of professional wrestling is as varied and accessible as ever. There’s no reason to not branch out and sample what it has to offer. MLW is one of the higher-profile promotions to challenge the mainstream and is the perfect gateway into plumbing pro wrestling’s rich depths in 2019.
