Norway takes on England on Thursday, June 27 at the Stade Oceane in Le Havre, France. Here’s what to know before you watch.

The Women’s World Cup quarterfinals open Thursday when Norway and England square off in Le Havre at the Women’s World Cup.

Norway are coming off a thrilling penalty-kick shootout win on Saturday against Australia in the Round of 16, while England steamrolled Cameroon 3-0 the following day.

Norway are coming in on an extra day’s rest, something they needed after an exhausting match that saw them hit the woodwork twice against Australia. The game ended 1-1 after overtime and was settled on PKs.

England had an easier time, although the match was marred by Cameroonian complaints over bad refereeing and disagreements over decisions overturned by VAR.

Norway and England should be a very good match. Both sides like to use the wings to move the ball forward and effectively use the midfield to generate offense. These two sides are evenly matched, meaning that another extra time or shootout isn’t out of the question at Stade Oceane.

The difference in this game could very well be the injury to England captain Steph Houghton, which has left her in doubt for the quarterfinals.
