1. Golden State Warriors

Durant has endured some semi-awkward moments in Golden State, but overall his decision to leave the Thunder for the Warriors has worked out really well. KD has played his best basketball en route to multiple championships playing alongside Steph Curry and Klay Thompson.

That doesn’t mean Durant has found his comfort spot in the Bay. As the years have gone by, he’s continued to seem more and more prickly to the media. It’s hard to understand whether or not that’s just the player’s personality as he grows older, or if it’s due to his desire to be the man somewhere other than Golden State.

In some ways, the Warriors have the easiest pitch to make. They have an ownership group that is willing to spend big money to keep this team together. Barring another season full of ill-timed injuries, Golden State is practically guaranteed to be a factor late into the postseason. No other team on this list can say that with the Warriors’ level of certainty.

That doesn’t mean Steve Kerr and company should feel comfortable about their chances. The very fact that Durant is taking multiple meetings proves he’s not convinced about his place in Golden State. The Warriors are the favorite to retain Durant’s services, but it’s only by a very slim margin.
