AEW Fyter Fest is in the books and we have a recap for you, including results, impressions and where things could go next for All Elite Wrestling.

Saturday night, All Elite Wrestling presented its second show, Fyter Fest, on B/R Live. The show was free to subscribers of the service and it certainly delivered a different type of show that we got from Double or Nothing.

There’s a lot of show to cover here, so let’s get right to it.

Private Party vs. SCU vs. The Best Friends

Well, the Buy-In Pre-Show didn’t waste any time getting started, going right into the triple threat tag team match between Private Party, Scorpio Sky and Frankie Kazarian of SCU, and the Best Friends. The winner of this match gets a guaranteed spot at All Out. If the team wins said match at All Out, they will receive a first-round bye in the AEW World Tag Team title tournament later on this year once the company makes its television debut on TNT.

The match did a fantastic job of showcasing all three teams. No one can argue about the depth of the tag team division in All Elite Wrestling. If you love tag team wrestling you’re going to get it in spades when it comes to this company.

The finish of the match saw the Best Friends pick up the win with Strong Zero tag team combination on Isiah Cassidy of Private Party. After the match, the Dark Order came on the Tron and cut a promo on the Best Friends. The lights went out and came back on as the minions of the Dark Order surrounded the Best Friends in the ring.

But before anything could really happen the lights went off again, and when they came back on the Minions disappeared. The Best Friends look at each other confused. It was a great way to kick off the show. We would imagine that the Dark Order will get the other spot to face the Best Friends at All Out, but only time will tell.

There was a Being the Elite-inspired type segment between the Young Bucks and Kenny Omega playing off how bad Omega has flopped on all of his promises for the Fyter Fest. If you watched the show weekly this all makes sense — or if you watched the pair of Fyre Fest documentaries which it was parodying. If not, you might be a bit confused.

We then get a spot between the Librarians, Leva Bates and Peter Avalon, getting heel heat asking all of the gamers to read books that got a chant response of “We can’t read!” This eventually leads to Allie coming out to set up the next match.
