So is a Top 10 fantasy season a lock for Lamar?

Having a full off-season as the starter helps a lot when considering he battled with Robert Griffin III last year for the backup spot behind “clear-cut starter” Joe FlaccoBeing the clear-cut starter for the whole off-season will do wonders for Lamar considering that this offense is builtaround him so he should be fully comfortable.

New OC Greg Roman has changed this entire offense to benefit Lamar and schemes are essential in the NFL when it comes to success. The fact that the new OC knows that this offense should feature Lamar Jackson as the team’s focus goes to show how much faith he has in the 2nd year QB.

All off season reports have been pro Lamar in terms of a passer. We all know Jackson is a terrific runner and his “cons” was the industry labeling him as an inaccurate passer. If Jackson can makes improvements in year two as a pure passer, the sky is the limit for him in this offense.

Mark Ingram joining the team helps keep opposing defenses “off their feet”, especially with the ability to utilize RPO’s (Run-Pass-Option). We can’t forget that they drafted Justice Hill in the NFL draft as well. Jackson kept teams off their toes last year with the duo of Gus Edwards and Kenneth Dixon, imagine how dominant the RPO’s can be with the upgrades of Ingram and Hill.

An underrated part of the off-season was the Ravens drafting two of the fastest WR’s in the draft, getting Marquise “Hollywood” Brown and Miles Boykin. This can lead to some big plays. Hollywood Brown didn’t get to participate in the combine but he’s had Desean Jackson comps so we know he’s fast and explosive. As for Boykin, he ran a 4.42, which cant be ignored.

The Ravens defense took a hit this off-season after losing Terrell Suggs, Eric Weddle, and Za’Darius Smith, meaning the Lamar Jackson led Ravens will have to score more in 2019. Last year the Ravens didn’t need to score a ton with a stout defense. This year, Lamar Jackson and company are going to have to compete in some shootouts to win football games this season.

With all of this being accounted for, I think it’s safe to say that we can expect a huge season for Lamar Jackson this season. I think he improves his passing yards and touchdowns as a whole and stays dominant as a dual-threat QB. He is currently being drafted as the QB20 overall according to his current ADP (average draft position). That has guys like Mitch Trubisky, Kirk Cousins, and Derek Carr being drafted around him.

2019 Season Projections:

2,800 passing yards, 725 rushing yards, and 27 total touchdowns
