Aleister Black has been looking for a fight. Cesaro has accepted his challenge and the two will meet at Extreme Rules.

Since competing for the SmackDown tag team titles at WrestleMania, Aleister Black has not wrestled on television. Instead, since the Superstar Shake-Up fans have gotten to know Black via backstage promos. It’s still a mystery as to why Black was relegated to the sidelines in comparison to his former tag partner Ricochet.

Black’s star power is undeniable as a former NXT Champion. Many fans are eager to see him in the main event picture. While that day is sure to come, we can now take solace in seeing him action again at Extreme Rules.

Enter Cesaro. The Swiss Cyborg has been reborn with a singles run since the Superstar Shake-Up, putting on stellar matches with the likes of Rey Mysterio and Ricochet on the Raw brand. He has reminded fans what many have known for a while: Cesaro is a main event player who was relegated to the tag team division.

The Bar was a successful experiment, with five title reigns to prove it. However now we get to see Cesaro in fantasy singles matchups. Sunday’s meeting with Black is a dark horse candidate to steal the show.

Style points to Cesaro for the Breaking Bad reference. In reality, he comes off as the perfect villain. Boasting an offense that showcases power, high-flying ability and submissions, Cesaro recently tapped No Way Jose with the Sharpshooter which speaks to his versatility.

We already know Black is a deadly striker, donning, as Jim Ross would say, “educated feet.” Many have fallen to the Black Mass finisher. There may even be some new wrinkles to Black’s game that will be uncovered at Extreme Rules.

The contrast in both styles is so exciting because it creates the unpredictability fans desire. One thing you can count on is that this will be a hard-hitting contest that will leave everyone on the edge of their seats. Cesaro stepped up to the plate; hopefully, he doesn’t forget his mouthguard.
