Previews and predictions for every match on the card at the 2019 edition of WWE Extreme Rules.

With SummerSlam on the horizon, there’s first the matter of the 2019 edition of WWE Extreme Rules and the card for this Sunday at the Wells Fargo Center in Philadelphia has rounded out quite nicely. There are some very interesting matches and stipulations set up and I must say that I’m quite optimistic about the show. There’s 10 matches to get to so let’s go ahead and jump right in, starting with the tag title bouts.

Triple Threat Match for the SmackDown Tag Team Championship

Daniel Bryan & Rowan (c) vs. Big E & Xavier Woods vs. Heavy Machinery

At first, I wasn’t completely sold on Daniel Bryan and Rowan as the SmackDown Tag Team Champions but these two actually have amazing chemistry. It’s great to see a talent and former world champion like Bryan not feel like he’s being underutilized or wasted in the tag division and he and Rowan are making the titles feel important.

They had a great match with Heavy Machinery at Stomping Grounds and I’m very pleased that Otis and Tucker found their way into this bout. As far as Big E and Xavier Woods go, it’s been interesting to watch them without Kofi Kingston being around as much, but they’ve been here a thousand times before and will certainly bring their best to this triple threat match. This should be an excellent match.

Prediction: If Kingston somehow manages to retain the WWE Championship, it would be pretty cool to see The New Day with so much gold, but I just don’t see that happening. Heavy Machinery will win the titles at some point but it’s not time to pull that trigger just yet. Bryan and Rowan have been excellent champions and that reign continues through Sunday.

RAW Tag Team Championship Match

The Revival (c) vs. The Usos

I can’t say that I’ve enjoyed watching so much comedic stuff with The Revival and The Usos over the past few months and it’s been a very strange path to finally getting a real pay-per-view match (even though it may end up on the Kickoff Show). It seems like it should’ve happened long before this, but let’s hope that all of that nonsense is behind us. These are two of the best tag teams in WWE right now and this is the chance to really highlight the red brand’s tag team division, which has been a little sloppy.

Prediction: If this is all serious business, this should be a great match. The Revival haven’t done much with the titles since winning them due to some poor booking. But with Monday nights seemingly getting better, perhaps they’ll get a real run with them and have the chance to shine. Or not. We’ll go with The Usos here.
