Although Philippe Coutinho is one of the most talented attacking midfielders in the world, he could be surplus goods at FC Barcelona. Here are three landing spots for the Brazilian distance shooter.

When he’s at his best, there are few players in the world who are as exciting to watch as Philippe Coutinho. Unfortunately, the former Liverpool star hasn’t quite been at the expected standard at FC Barcelona, despite the fact that the Catalan giants purchased him for well over 100 million pounds in the winter of 2018.

Barcelona won La Liga with ease in 2018-2019, but they were upset by Valencia in the Copa del Rey finals and blew a semifinals lead to Liverpool in the Champions League. As such, Barcelona have been hard at work upgrading their team, showing interest in a reunion with Neymar while also snagging Antoine Griezmann from Atletico Madrid.

But if Barcelona still want Neymar or want to do some more financial maneuvering, they’ll likely have to sell one of their attacking players. Between Coutinho and Ousmane Dembele, the latter has more potential, so Coutinho could become the odd man out if the right deal occurs.

In the right situation, Coutinho is absolutely a world-class player, and he’s shined for Brazil in back-to-back summers at the World Cup and the Copa America. There are no guarantees Coutinho leaves or that Barcelona are highly interested in parting ways with such a talented player, but if the price is right, he could very well be playing elsewhere.

Here are three possible landing spots for the 27-year-old, who remains in the prime of his career but may be better off leaving Barcelona after a mediocre 18 months with the club.
