Madden NFL 20 Ratings: 5 QBs who were totally snubbed
Mitchell Trubisky (75)
If Deshaun Watson is the worst snub at quarterback in the Madden NFL 20 ratings, then Mitchell Trubisky might be right behind him for the sheer fact that a starting-caliber quarterback for a 12-win team should not be rated this low.
A grand total of 25 quarterbacks are rated higher than Trubisky, and that list includes Ryan Fitzpatrick, who is one of the most interception-prone passers in the league. He’s also decidedly not a franchise quarterback, whereas Trubisky fits the bill as the Chicago Bears starter and former No. 2 overall pick.
Trubisky had a strong sophomore season, leading the Bears to the playoffs, where they were a missed field goal away from defeating the reigning Super Bowl champions. The former UNC star posted the 16th-best QB Rating in the NFL, besting several players ahead of him, including Cam Newton and Derek Carr, in adjusted yards per attempt to boot.
On top of that, Trubisky is an excellent athlete at the quarterback position who can make things happen with his legs, giving him an advantage over other quarterbacks rated higher like Jameis Winston and Fitzpatrick.
Clearly, Trubisky has his limitations as a passer and needs to start getting more out of Allen Robinson. But he’s also surely better than a rating of 75, especially when accounting for his 421 rushing yards.
