Main DraftKings MLB picks July 18: Freeman isn’t free

We have eight night games for our DraftKings MLB tournaments on Thursday which means the main slate is actually the main slate. Okay, we had eight games. The Yankees-Rays postponement from last night caused DraftKings to remove the second game of the straight doubleheader from the main slate. Maybe. Now they have it back in, but it could change again. The pitching looks strong on this slate, but a closer look reveals that it really isn’t.

Everyone here at FanSided Fantasy is getting you ready for football season, so I hope you stick around for that! We have everything you need to get you ready for the upcoming NFL season!

More from DraftKings

Rain: New York(moderate), Atlanta(very slight), Minneapolis(very slight)

Wind: 12 mph out to left in San Francisco, 12 mph crosswind in Phoenix

Hot/Humid: New York(humid), Cincinnati(very hot and humid), Cleveland(both), Atlanta(hot), Minneapolis(both), Los Angeles(humid), Phoenix(very hot), San Francisco(humid)

If they remove the New York game, it takes most of the rain risk off the slate. They may close the roof in Phoenix due to the extreme heat. The balls are really going to fly in Cincinnati with the heat index over 100 degrees at first pitch. They could fly in Target Field and in Cleveland as well. There is very good hitting weather across most of the slate tonight.

Great hitting weather in Arlington and Kansas City, but it’s going to be miserable in KC. Fatigue could be a big factor with the heat index well over 100 degrees at start time.

My Royals/Diamondbacks hybrid stack did well, and did my Paddack, Ray, and Teoscar one off. I came out ahead thanks to the night slate, but didn’t do so hot on the main one. I didn’t have enough Arizona and didn’t have the right pieces in my Cole/Paddack lineups.

These tips are based mostly on past performance. This is a nice tool for building a lineup, but should not be the only pieces of information you use. We have plenty of writers on here who give you relevant information no matter which site you play on, and we all attack the slate from different angles.
