MLB DFS Pitching Primer: Friday, July 19

Welcome back to the Friday edition of the MLB DFS Pitching Primer! I’m Thunder Dan and I’ll be covering pitching for MLB DFS on all season long at FanSided Fantasy. I’m including both FanDuel and DraftKings pricing and will be covering my favorite pitching options for both sites.

If you haven’t noticed yet,  FantasyCPR is now officially FanSided Fantasy, you’re one-stop site for everything fantasy sports-related. I know everyone on our staff is really excited about the transition and the opportunity to grow our reach to more fantasy sports fans! Nothing on our end is going to change, we just happen to have a new site to host our articles and we have big plans to continue expanding our content to give our readers the most comprehensive analysis of season-long and DFS, all for free!

Yesterday my picks did pretty well with Chris Sale returning to dominance on the early slate, while Trevor Bauer and Noah Syndergaard both pitched well on the main slate. Dakota Hudson labored through 5 innings but was still able to pick up a win for the Cardinals. There’s no time for victory laps as tonight we have a 14-game main slate with an amazing amount of quality arms to analyze.

"The goal of the pitching primer is to help you narrow down your pitching options for both your GPPs and cash games. Analyzing pitchers and pitching matchups is something I really enjoy and I hope to give you a detailed analysis of why I think each pitcher makes for a compelling cash or GPP play."

I always like to start by laying everything out for you in my “first look,” which is where I put together a macro look at all the pitchers on today’s slates complete with Vegas odds. We have some huge Vegas favorites today as well as some pitchers will significant home/road splits as well. With so many quality pitching options tonight we are going to have weigh as many factors as possible.
