Ranking the 50 most visually-appealing college football uniforms

Some schools have embraced a more modern look to their uniforms, and Maryland is one of the teams at the forefront of that movement. Just like Oregon has served as Nike’s laboratory, so too has the University of Maryland played that role for Under Armour. It is a partnership that has led to a distinctive look among programs at all levels of college football.
The Terrapins have gone to great lengths to incorporate the Maryland state flag into their uniform designs, creating an ensemble that is unique and stands out among the more traditional looks of the Big Ten. That flag, with its alternating sections of yellow and black opposite red and white, allows for some fun combinations.
Maryland has utilized the flag to striking effect in its helmets in recent years. They have had fun integrating red, gold, black, and white together in a string of pant and jersey combinations and with various highlights.
When the new look was first released in 2011, it provoked some harsh criticisms. But as it has been refined over the years, with more stylized flag helmets toning down the original garishness, Maryland has shown that it is possible to take on a look this bold and unique and successfully incorporate it into a variety of stylish options.
