WWE 205 Live preview for July 23: Watch online

WWE Cruiserweight Champion Drew Gulak competes and more as the “Battle of Brands” continues on 205 Live.

Despite his loss in the NXT Breakout Tournament, Isiah” Swerve” Scott has impressed WWE officials enough that he’s earned another chance to show off his speed and agility in a “Battle of the Brands” match against current Cruiserweight champion Drew Gulak. Both men have crossed paths many times before entering the WWE giving the match some interesting layers.

Another “Battle of the Brands” match features more WWE Superstars from NXT taking on 205 Live Superstars when Humberto Carrillo and Raul Mendoza face The Lucha House Party.

Since competing in the WWE Cruiserweight Classic, Mendoza has made an impression. His track record since joining 205 Live has seen him face some of the top performers in the division in the likes of Ricochet, Buddy Murphy and Aleister Black, all of whom have moved up to the main roster.

You won’t want to blink during this tag-team match as it’s sure to feature some amazing aerial feats and fast-paced action as four of the most exciting competitors in WWE face off.

Last week WWE 205 Live saw a confrontation between Mike Kanellis and general manager Drake Maverick erupt. When Kanellis brought Maverick’s personal issues with his wife into the conversation things got heated and Maverick attacked Kanellis before driving him from the ring. After the confrontation, Maverick told Kanellis he would grant him a championship match but only if Kanellis could beat Maverick in a one-on-one contest.

This Tuesday, the official contract signing will take place. But after what went down on the Raw Reunion with Maverick losing not only the 24/7 Championship but also his wife to R-Truth, it remains to be see where his state of mind will be.
