FanDuel MLB – Top Third Basemen

Top Play: Anthony Rendon | WAS | $4,200

While Howie Kendrick and Brian Dozier both smash lefties, it is Anthony Rendon who checks the boxes as the Nationals top overall play.

He’s posted a 0.452 wOBA and 0.321 ISO against lefties on the season, coupling those numbers with his absurd 42.1% fly-ball rate and 50.9% hard-contact rate. I hate to beat a dead horse, but Kyle Freeland is not good at pitching this season.

A near-0.300 ISO allowed to righties is enough to lock in Rendon in a spot where I cannot help but feel like he is still $500 too cheap.

Value Play: Tommy Edman | STL | $2,700

The Cardinals rookie has been a staple atop the lineup as of late and I see no reason not to look his way tonight in a plus matchup with Jordan Lyles of the Pirates.

Lyles has surrendered a 0.419 wOBA, 0.276 ISO and a 40.9% fly-ball rate to left-handed batters this season, the side of the plate in which Edman has done the brunt of his damage.

He’s posted a 0.333 wOBA and a 0.210 ISO against righties this season with a 43.8% hard-contact rate. For $2,700, you really can’t find a legitimate case against playing him in your cash games tonight.
