MLB DFS Pitching Gems July 28: Targeting The White Sox Again?
MLB DFS Pitching Plays
Kyle Gibson – Gibson has a 3.78 xFIP. 23% K rate, 49% GB rate, and 36.8% HC. Time for our cover boy. Targeting the White Sox is something that I think we have all been doing these days. They have a massive 27% K rate against RHP, with 47% GB. Luckily for Gibson, the only LHH in this lineup with any real power is Yoan Moncada.
Kyle has a 24% K rate to RHH, with 52% GB, and 36% HC. Lastly, in his only start against the White Sox, Gibson dropped 55 FD points, but that game was home, and this one is on the road.
Pitch Mix – Kyle has a very diverse set of pitches he uses, the sinker is used the most around 32%, followed by the slider, change, fastball, and curve all around 15%. The change is obviously used more on LHH with a 35% whiff rate, but his breaking pitches both get right around 45% whiffs.
I really hope he bumps up the usage of these two pitches in this game because Chicago has high whiffs and a good bit of GB to them. The movement and velocity on his pitches are very much average, but this Sox team is now worse than any other team in Baseball, so at that 7.2K price tag, feel free to lock him into every lineup possible.
