When Buddy Murphy finally gets to wrestle on SmackDown Live these five opponents would be a great match for him.

It seems “The best kept secret” is still just that. Since moving to the main roster from 205 Live, Buddy Murphy hasn’t really been featured on TV. When it finally becomes his time to shine, there’s a stacked roster waiting for him that would result in some all time classic matches. For the sake of simplicity we’ll just assume that the Wild Card Rule is in effect for some of these.

5. Ali

Ali and Murphy have a history dating back to their time together on 205 Live. The two men had a series of matches that amazed audiences. One of those showstoppers was back at the 2018 Survivor Series when Murphy successfully defended his newly-won Cruiserweight Championship against Ali in an epic confrontation.

When Ali moved up to the SmackDown Live roster he started on a hot streak which has seemed to cool down since an injury took him out of the Elimination Chamber match. In an effort to repackage Ali, the WWE have been running vignettes and interviews with him but he hasn’t found his footing back in the ring yet.

For what it’s worth, Murphy already called out Ali during a WWE.com exclusive so plans may already be in place for this match to happen. If Ali and Murphy were to reignite their feud from 205 Live and bring it to SmackDown Live, it would be a surefire way to get both Superstars over in a major way.
