Why isn’t Fear The Walking Dead new tonight, July 28? Find out is Fear The Walking Dead on tonight and why AMC isn’t airing a new season 5 episode.

Why isn’t Fear The Walking Dead new tonight, July 29? AMC is giving the first Walking Dead spinoff the week off, and we’re here to tell you why—and when the show returns.

The sixth season has been an interesting one so far, with several episodes taking narrative chances, new travelers being introduced, and Daniel Salazar (Ruben Blades) popping up just about everywhere. But the network has put the brakes on this Sunday, and it has nothing to do with the show itself.

So why isn’t Fear The Walking Dead new tonight? AMC is using Sunday to double up on its new horror series, NOS4A2, starring Zachary Quinto (Star Trek, American Horror Story) as a terrible monster who preys on the souls of children. That show is airing two back-to-back episodes tonight to finish up its first season.

That means there’s no room on the schedule for Alicia, Morgan and their band of zombie-fighting survivors. Not only is there not a new episode tonight, there’s not even a rerun planned. Fans are completely out of luck, and it’s a longer hiatus than they may be aware of.

The show will be taking a break not just for this week, but next week as well. The ninth episode of Fear won’t air until Aug. 11. In the meanwhile, if you need to catch up with the first eight episodes of this season, they’re streaming on Hulu. AMC may also be broadcasting select reruns during the week; check their website for their schedule.
