MLB DFS Pitching Primer: Tuesday, 8/6

Welcome back to the Tuesday edition of the MLB DFS Pitching Primer! I’m Thunder Dan and I’ll be covering pitching for MLB DFS on all season long at FanSided Fantasy. I’m including both FanDuel and DraftKings pricing and will be covering my favorite pitching options for both sites.

If you haven’t noticed yet,  FantasyCPR is now officially FanSided Fantasy, your one-stop site for everything fantasy sports-related. I know everyone on our staff is really excited about the transition and the opportunity to grow our reach to more fantasy sports fans!

Last night my picks did pretty well with both Giolito and Morton pitching well as the high priced options, while rookie Aaron Civale was also really good as my top cheap option. Spencer Turnbull struck out 7 Chicago hitters but was lifted after only 3 innings due to a pitch count that I didn’t know about until much closer to lock.

Today we have a 15-game slate on both sites and while that usually means there should be a lot of different pitchers to consider, but there are not many aces or high-end arms going in these games tonight.

I am going to recommend four different pitchers today, but there are as many as 6-7 guys total who I would consider using in my lineups tonight, especially on Draftkings where SP2 is a really interesting situation. FanDuel is going to be a little more cut and dry for me.

I do my best to give you some different options at various price points every day and I’ll always include my cash and GPP rankings at the end of the article with my final thoughts.

"The goal of the pitching primer is to help you narrow down your pitching options for both your GPPs and cash games. Analyzing pitchers and pitching match-ups is something I really enjoy and I hope to give you a detailed analysis of why I think each pitcher makes for a compelling cash or GPP play."

Let’s start with my favorite higher-priced options for your cash games. It’s a tough call here as there are two high priced options (who both happen to have the same first name) that both merit some consideration for top dog on this slate!
