4. Los Angeles Dodgers

Talk about the rich getting richer. The Dodgers are well-situated at the big league level, and they also have MLB.com’s No. 3-ranked farm system. And looking toward 2021, the first year of a new deal for Betts, they seem to have room to add payroll (a projected $80.625 million to 19 players).

An outfield of Betts and Cody Bellinger would be as elite as it is versatile, as both guys could hypothetically play any of the three spots and a combination of others could be used somewhat interchangeably (and cheaply) to fill the gaps.

While they’ve been winning six straight NL West titles, and as they move toward clinching a seventh straight sooner rather than later with an 18 game lead entering Friday, the Dodgers have been able to seamlessly bring a long pipeline of young talent to the mix. Parting with some of their current prospects to add a significant piece, like Betts or someone else, could very well wind up on the offseason radar.

If the Dodgers do have interest in Betts specifically, this offer might get Boston’s attention.
