Previews and predictions for every match on the card at the 2019 edition of WWE SummerSlam from Toronto.

The “biggest party of the summer” is upon us as the 2019 edition of WWE SummerSlam is set for this Sunday at the ScotiaBank Arena in Toronto. The last time WWE left the United States for the second-biggest show of the year was 15 years ago and it took place in this exact same building when it was called the Air Canada Centre.

That night back in 2004, Randy Orton became the youngest World Champion in WWE history when he defeated Chris Benoit for the Big Gold Belt and The Viper will have another chance at gold this Sunday when he takes on Kofi Kingston for the WWE Championship, one of numerous title matches on the SummerSlam card. The WWE Universal Championship is also on the line as Brock Lesnar faces Seth Rollins in a WrestleMania rematch.

On the women’s side of things, Becky Lynch puts her Raw Women’s Championship on the line in a Submission Match with Natalya while Bayley defends the SmackDown Women’s Championship against Ember Moon, both of which are very intriguing matchups.

A few mid-card titles will also be on the line as United States Champion AJ Styles and Ricochet will once again do battle and WWE Cruiserweight Champion Drew Gulak has a new challenger in Oney Lorcan. At the time of this writing, we do not know if that match will be on the Kickoff Show or not but that’s the usual spot for the division. I’m hoping it makes the main card but we’ll see.

As of right now, nothing has been announced for the Kickoff Show but it’s possible we could see Shinsuke Nakamura and Ali for the Intercontinental Championship there, which would be fantastic, and at least one set of tag titles. I wouldn’t think The Club, The New Day or The Usos would be without a match at SummerSlam.

You’ll notice that I didn’t mention Daniel Bryan and Rowan there, who took out Big E and Xavier Woods on Tuesday night. While another match between those two teams could happen, there seems to be bigger things brewing as the Roman Reigns saga continues. Buddy Murphy told Reigns that Rowan is the one who’s been trying to take him out and we’re likely to get some sort of confrontation on that front, which could possibly lead to a match. I wouldn’t think Roman would be left off the card either.

A number of grudge matches are also on the docket, all of which we’ll get to, starting with the return of two WWE Hall of Famers. Let’s get into the preview and predictions for every match on the SummerSlam card this Sunday in Toronto.
