Premier League best XI for Week 1 of the 2019/20 season, featuring Raheem Sterling, Paul Pogba and Mohamed Salah.

A new season has already brought similar results for the big names in the Premier League. Title rivals Manchester City and Liverpool still look like the class of the division after emphatic wins on the opening weekend.

Mohamed Salah got Liverpool started the right way, scoring one goal and assisting another, as last season’s runners-up thrashed Norwich 4-1 at Anfield.

Just like last season, anything the Reds could do City did better. The champions went to the London Stadium and put five past West Ham, inspired by Raheem Sterling’s hat-trick.

While City and Liverpool are still dominant, Paul Pogba continues to divide opinion for Manchester United. To some he’s a maverick, misunderstood talent, to others a malcontent more interested in self-promotion than furthering the ambitions of his club.

What should be beyond debate is Pogba’s place as one of the most exciting midfielders in the game. He was at his best during United’s 4-0 trouncing of Chelsea at Old Trafford, providing a pair of eye-catching assists.

Find out who else joins Pogba, Sterling and Salah in the first team of the week of the new season.
