Evolution was a groundbreaking event showcasing an all women’s pay-per-view on the WWE Network for the first time. Here’s why Evolution 2 should take place, and the dream matches to include.

When Stephanie McMahon announced the WWE would be holding its first-ever all women’s pay-per-view event people didn’t know what to expect. But Evolution delivered one of the better showings for WWE in 2018. Legends mixed with current stars, a new Mae Young Classic winner was crowned and titles were decided. Top-to-bottom, the ladies of the past, present and future of pro wrestling put on a memorable show.

So where’s Evolution 2?

The WWE pay-per-view schedule is planned well in advance and currently, a TBA is sitting in the slot for October. Hopefully, that spot is being reserved for Evolution 2. With the women of WWE shattering the proverbial glass ceiling by earning their way into the main event of WrestleMania 35 it proves the interest surrounding the women’s division is high. And when rumors of WWE being hesitant to move forward with another Evolution without Ronda Rousey attached, current Raw Women’s Champion Becky Lynch quickly refutes it. Lynch told talkSPORT that she would love to headline the second Evolution.

"“First and foremost, it was one of the best pay-per-views of the year. And that’s not me being biased, that’s a fact,” Lynch confidently stated. “It had Match of the Year on it, including yours truly. Absolutely, I don’t see any reason why not. I think we have a strong enough women’s division [without Rousey], as long as they tell the stories around us and let us go. And …  that’s all I’ll say.”"

The Match of the Year to which Lynch referred to between herself and Charlotte Flair in a Last Woman Standing match undoubtedly stole the show. It became the Match of the Year for a reason and that’s because both women put it all on the line to deliver a stellar match that told a great story. In fact, all the women on the Evolution show should be credited for putting in amazing performances, and that includes the returning legends.

So how do you top last year’s Evolution? How do you create interest without a name like Rousey attached? As Lynch said, you set matches, tell stories and let them go to work. Using only the names currently in WWE and without bringing back any legends, here are just a few ideas for dream matches that could round out the card.
