MLB DFS Pitching Plays

Clayton Kershaw  – In a rematch against the Marlins, Kershaw is back in action, and is my top pitcher on this packed slate. Last time out against the Marlins, he dropped 52 FD points, giving up two hits, striking out ten.

We all know Miami is one of the worst teams in the league, they hit 50% GB, strike out around 24% of the time against LHP, to go with a miserable ISO below .135. They have virtually no power in the entire lineup, and Kershaw is really coming into form as of late.

Doing a great job of limiting power, giving up no more than two runs since June, and has really been ramping up the strikeouts as well.

Pitch Mix  – Since he will see mostly RHH we will focus on his pitches against them. Kershaw is using the fastball and slider both around 44% of the time, with the curve 14% of the time. Those breaking pitches are getting really nice whiffs, right above 40% as of lately.

Both of them got above 50% GB on the year to go with the nice whiff rates. That curve gets some nasty movement, and the fastball is also getting more than ten inches of vertical movement. I really like Clayton today, and I am wondering what his ownership will be, with some many other options on the slate, and the price tag might scare people off as well.
