D’Angelo Russell puts his trust in Steve Kerr

On this edition of the On The Mark podcast D’Angelo Russell discusses his move from great to greater leaving Brooklyn for Golden State.

One of the main reasons Kevin Durant and Kyrie Irving chose the Brooklyn Nets was they saw a playoff team ready to compete for an NBA title. The Nets would not have been in the playoffs had it not been for the steady contributions they got from D’Angelo Russell.

Russell, however, ended up as a casualty of Durant and Irving wanting to play in Brooklyn. He was traded to Golden State for Kevin Durant to make room for the duo. Getting traded is never easy for any player, but Russell is choosing to see the positive side of his new work home.

“I give Coach Kerr a lot of credit,” Russell said. “He puts guys in the best position to do what they do. If that maximizes me being a pick-and-roll player, or being a catch-and-shoot playmaking guard, I am willing to adapt. I’m excited for whatever that situation may be. I think I was in a greater situation ( Brooklyn versus the Los Angeles Lakers ) and I went to an even greater situation.” ( Golden State )

Russell is working with Foot Locker which premiered its newest “We Live Sneakers” digital campaign, The “Evolution of the Swoosh” footwear and apparel collection.
