NFL DFS preseason week 2: Biggest storylines and DFS picks for all 32 teams
Welcome to the 2019-2020 NFL season! Specifically, welcome to another cycle of NFL DFS, this one for NFL DFS Preseason Week 2. Be sure to follow me @AlexMcKinnonDFS for weekly DFS guidelines and up to the minute news and notes.
As we enter NFL DFS Preseason Week 2 of the preseason (officially Week 3 if you count the Hall of Fame game), there is a surplus of storylines to watch for and a number of players to slot into your DFS lineups.
NFL DFS Preseason Week 2: Biggest Storylines and DFS Picks for All 32 Teams
Eagles @ Jaguars
Nick Foles! Foles and his new team, the Jaguars, will host the Eagles in a ‘revenge’ game with no revenge. After a successful stint with the Eagles, Foles joins the Jaguars to be the undoubted #1 starter as the Eagles officially turn over the franchise to Carson Wentz. You may not see much or any of either QBs but it should at least be appealing for their interactions.
Players to consider in NFL DFS Preseason Week 2: Gardner Minshew (QB-JAX), Dede Westbrook (WR-JAX), Miles Sanders (RB-PHI), J.J. Arcega-Whiteside (WR-PHI)
Bengals @ Redskins
Zac Taylor will take the field in hopes of earning his first ‘win’ of his young career as the new, spry 36-year old head coach of the Bengals. For the Redskins, there will be no shortage of Quarterback controversies this season should Colt McCoy struggle at any point.
Case Keenum and Dwayne Haskins will continue their preseason campaign to fight for the #2 spot and potential replacement if McCoy were to fail in Gruden’s system.
Players to consider in NFL DFS Preseason Week 2: Auden Tate (WR-CIN), Dwayne Haskins (QB-WAS), Semaje Perine (RB-WAS), Darvin Kidsy (WR-WAS)
Jets @ Falcons
The Jets priority this preseason is primarily identifying defensive playmakers and shaping their roster for what could/should be their first competitive season since the Mark Sanchez era. For the Falcons, Thursday night should mark the debut of Matt Ryan and Devonta Freeman along with a number of interesting position competitions (i.e. Ito Smith vs. Brian Hill at running back).
Players to consider in NFL DFS Preseason Week 2: Elijah McGuire (RB-NYJ), Brian Hill (RB-ATL)
Packers @ Ravens
The Ravens will look to extend their 13-game winning streak in the preseason (dating back to 2015) coming off of a 29-0 beat-down of the Jaguars. This combined with a second look at rookie Miles Boykin are the biggest points of interest for Baltimore.
The Packers will continue their search for suitable receivers behind Davante Adams, Geronimo Allison and MVS. With the Packers expected to play their starters for one quarter, I’d hesitate to suggest plugging in a Packer for your DFS lineup.
Players to consider in NFL DFS Preseason Week 2: Justice Hill (RB-BAL), Miles Boykin (WR-BAL)
Raiders @ Cardinals
Can the ‘Hard Knock’ highlighted Oakland Raiders continue to develop their young defensive core? Clearly Antonio Brown is the overlying story in Oakland but they have dumped a lot of their assets and draft picks into a defensive unit that must succeed for Oakland to compete for a playoff spot.
If running back Josh Jacobs is able to play, look out for the first RB off the board in the 2019 NFL Draft to show off. Kyler Murray is expected to play more then one series for Arizona on Thursday, giving us a bit of an extended look at the #1 pick.
Players to consider in NFL DFS Preseason Week 2: Mike Glennon (QB-OAK), Josh Jacobs (RB-OAK), Trent Sherfield (WR-ARI)
