Jonathan Macri joins the latest episode of Fastbreak Breakfast to discuss the offseason and what is next for the New York Knicks.

After owner James Dolan boldly proclaimed the Knicks were going to have a “very successful offseason” in regards to free agent signings, it’s almost impossible to paint a rosy picture of what actually went down in July.

Still, amidst the incessant criticisms from NBA Twitter and sports talk radio, the path taken by front office duo Scott Perry and Steve Path hasn’t been fairly judged, suggests Jonathan Macri (@JCMacriNBA). Macri writes and podcasts for Knicks Film School and joins the latest episode of Fastbreak Breakfast.

Also covered:

  • Even though many of their moves may be misunderstood, is there any excuse for the Knicks not using cap space to acquire unwanted contracts in exchange for picks, such as the Andre Iguodala or Moe Harkless deals?
  • Are the veterans signed in the summer the right fit to focus on the development of R.J. Barrett and Mitchell Robinson?
  • Outside of Barrett of Robinson, how does the team prioritize the rest of the young core? Is Kevin Knox more important than Dennis Smith Jr.? What about Allonzo Trier, Ignas Brazdeikis and Frank Ntilikina?
  • With the glut of power forwards, how will David Fizdale keep everyone happy? How does the rotation work?
  • Is Robinson the second coming of Marcus Camby or something even better?
