Liverpool face Arsenal at Anfield on Saturday, Aug. 24. Here’s all the info you need to watch.
In the marquee game of the weekend, Liverpool host Arsenal at Anfield. The game features the only two teams that won their first two games of the season. Liverpool beat Norwich and Southampton, while Arsenal defeated Newcastle and Burnley.
After easily beating Norwich in the first game of the season, Liverpool beat Southampton 2-1. The Reds did not play well but did enough to get all three points. Roberto Firmino and Sadio Mane both scored their first goals of the season, giving Liverpool five different goal scorers this season.
Mane, Firmino and Mohamed Salah will lead the attack for the Reds as they look to pick up their third victory in as many games. While Jurgen Klopp has been consistent with his front three, the German manager has decided to rotate his midfield more often this season. That means that players like Naby Keita, Jordan Henderson and Fabinho could start after not starting the previous game.
After finishing outside the top four for three consecutive seasons, the pressure is on Arsenal to qualify for the Champions League. Dani Ceballos got his first start since joining Arsenal from Real Madrid and was excellent. Ceballos controlled play against Burnley and assisted on both Arsenal goals. If Ceballos can do the same against Liverpool, Arsenal will have the chance to steal points from the Reds at Anfield.
Ceballos will look to create chances for Alexandre Lacazette and Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang, who both scored against Burnley. Aubameyang’s goal against Burnley was his second of the season. Last season, Aubameyang was tied with Mane and Salah as the Premier League’s top scorer.

Liverpool picked up four of six points against Arsenal last season. However, the two points that Liverpool dropped in the draw were the difference between winning the title and finishing one point behind Manchester City. Since the 2014-15 season, Liverpool have four wins and five draws against Arsenal. The Gunners have not beaten Liverpool since Klopp became the manager, with their last victory coming on April 4, 2015.
