6 college football bets to take to the bank in Week 1

College football returns in full form with Week 1 of the 2019 season and these are your best bets among a loaded slate of games over five days.

It feels like it’s been years since Trevor Lawrence led the way for the Clemson Tigers through the College Football Playoff, including a rout of Alabama in the National Championship Game, to win the title. Yet, it’s only been a little under eight months since that time. The good news for fans, though, is that college football is back and returns in full capacity starting on Thursday, Aug. 29 to kick off Week 1.

After Florida topped Miami and Hawaii overcame Arizona in Week 0, there is a full slate of games throughout Week 1 to appease the appetites of college football fans. There will be ranked teams playing every day from Thursday, Aug. 29 until Monday, Sept. 2. That’s quite a good way for the sport to welcome fans back to a new season.

The favorites in the 2019 college football season aren’t hard to find. Once again, it’s Clemson and Alabama as the best bets to win the National Championship. However, the Georgia Bulldogs, Ohio State Buckeyes and Oklahoma Sooners are all looming as the biggest potential threats to the Tigers and Crimson Tide — at least according to the preseason AP Top 25 poll.

We’re not here to talk about season-long best bets, though. We’re going to look at the slate of games in Week 1 over all five days and highlight the most enticing odds. Whether it’s the point spread, the moneyline or the over/under line, we’re going to look at it all and try to pinpoint where you should be investing.

Having that in mind and going in chronological order, these are the six best bets in Week 1 of the 2019 college football season.
