These five coaches enter the first week of the college football season on the hot seat. Which coaches need to secure a win off the bat?

Week 1 of the college football season has arrived and its a fresh slate for everyone. Starting at with a perfect 0-0 record allows everyone to get off on the same footing and for some, hope toward a better season.

However, the faults of the past still linger and some coaches know now more than ever that they’re going to have excavate success out of the ground they’re standing upon this season if they want to keep their jobs.

The names that survived the hot seat after the 2018 season might not be given the same amount of leeway given to them last year. The time is now for results and if not, it’s going to be on to the next one.

Two coaches are currently dead men walking when it comes to the hot seat. Those coaches are Rutgers’ Chris Ash and UConn’s Randy Edsall. Both have seen woeful performances from their program and rather than listing them week in and week out, it’s best to accept that should they fall flat again, this is their end.

This year the hot seat is going to see many big names. It’s been boiling for a while that there may be big changes at major programs. We’re not calling for their jobs, but these are five coaches that really need a win to cool the hot seat talk.
