NFL DFS FanDuel breakdown: Week 1 Monday slate

With the majority of the games from week one behind us, we are now down to the final two games of the week. Usually, this is a single game showdown slate for Monday night, but the NFL DFS gods have blessed us with two games to choose from. The Saints against the Texans, and the Broncos against the Raiders. I think it is pretty clear as to which game we will want to focus on more, just by looking at the match-ups, and the point totals for each game.

The Saints game has a 52.5 point total, while the Denver game has a 42.5 point total. Anytime we have two high powered offenses going up against each other, that will be the game to have more exposure from. However, on a two-game slate, I really like to get weird with my builds and will have plenty of players from this late game as well. Since this is only a two-game slate, I will probably not mention as many stats as I normally do. The reality is that game theory will take bigger precedence, and be contrarian with how you build your lineups.

As reference, the main websites I used are Pro Football Reference, and Football Outsiders, along with RotoGrinders tools, you may see stats such as QBR (Total Quarterback Rating) DYAR (Defense-adjusted Yards Above Replacement) DVOA (Defense-adjusted Value Over Average), as well as some more common terms we all know, such as totals yards, touchdowns, interceptions, etc. Let’s dive in!
