Carson Palmer thinks the Raiders deserve a ton of credit for cutting Antonio Brown before he did any further damage.

There wasn’t a bigger football story this weekend than Antonio Brown forcing his release from the Oakland Raiders. Whether a mastermind plan or not, the fact of the matter is Brown will play (and probably win a Super Bowl with) the New England Patriots.

Time is a flat circle, the Patriots always get their way.

Brown’s exit from Oakland drew jokes and trolls aimed at the Raiders for trading away two draft picks for what amounted to an offseason rental. But Carson Palmer, who is doing the rounds promoting the 17th Season of the Air & Ground program which will provide support to the USO, isn’t dogging Mike Mayock for what happened.

“You have to tip your cap to [the Raiders cutting Antonio Brown]. Not all teams would admit to the mistake they admitted to. Teams, GMs, and owners aren’t comfortable making that admission.”

He’s also not ready to throw dirt on Brown and the Patriots, even if he thinks New England was the destination that made the least sense.

“At the end of the day, he’s still one of two or three receivers that can change a game. He’s as explosive as anyone in the league,” Palmer told FanSided’s Mark Carman. “Of all the teams to get him, the Patriots make the least amount of sense.”

Palmer admits that Brown is also as undisciplined as anyone in the NFL, which muddies the waters of his potential success.

Whether it works out in New England is yet to be seen, but chances are an explosive receiver in Tom Brady’s offense is going to result in another big year for the Patriots.
