NFL DraftKings: Quarterbacks

Patrick Mahomes $7,500

You shouldn’t have to be told that Mahomes is a top option. There has been some chatter about the reigning MVP not having the same ceiling without Tyreek Hill at his disposable, and I’m hoping that thought process draws at least some ownership away from him. Hill went down early last week and this offense was just fine. Oakland’s defense looked good against Joe Flacco but let’s see what happens when they line up against a quarterback who isn’t a decrepit statue.

Derek Carr $5,100

When the Chiefs overhauled their entire defensive scheme, the hope was that their league-worst pass defense would undergo some improvement. After watching Gardner Minshew pick them apart, it’s looking like Kansas City’s defense will once again be great for DFS purposes. Even more appealing is that Carr has a history of lighting it up in this matchup.

Don’t overthink it. Any team that wants to beat the Chiefs is going to have to score a lot of points. The volume will be there. Carr is the best value quarterback on the entire slate and it wouldn’t be a shock to see him as a top 5 scorer at his position.
