Pete Zayas joins the latest episode of Fastbreak Breakfast to discuss what’s next for the Los Angeles Lakers.

By trading Lonzo Ball, Brandon Ingram, Josh Hart and a boatload of picks to the Pelicans for Anthony Davis, the Lakers essentially went all-in to win a title this season. But with an ill-fitting roster featuring a subpar collection of guards, a championship is improbable (even if they currently have the second-best odds).

So if LeBron James and AD don’t deliver a title this season, is there a secondary goal that can make the year be viewed as a success?

To answer that question, Pete Zayas joins the latest episode of Fastbreak Breakfast. Pete runs the popular site and YouTube channel Laker Film Room and says while the goal is to get a ring, convincing Anthony Davis to remain in LA past his current contract is what will define success for the Lakers. Otherwise, it’s possible the pain of the current playoff drought runs the risk of reoccurring.

Also covered on this episode:

  • Barring an unexpected roster change, what is the ideal lineup combination? If you wanted to be optimistic about the Lakers title chances, what five-man unit is doing the heavy lifting?
  • What should fans be doing to help encourage an Andre Iguodala buyout in Memphis?
  • Hypothetically, if you wanted to [or were allowed to] trade LeBron, are there any perfect deals to reboot the dynasty around AD?
  • Beyond saving the Lakers, would James and Davis be interested in rescuing Team USA basketball as well?
