DraftKings NFL GPP pivots: Quarterback

If you read this column at all last year or even the first few weeks of this season you already know that I have a man-crush on Josh Allen. He was one of my favorite GPP plays down the stretch last season and I was really high on him this preseason.

He certainly hasn’t disappointed from a fantasy perspective, scoring 20 and 22 DK points in his first two games. And from a real-life football perspective, he’s been solid, too, leading the Bills to a 2-0 start and energizing the Buffalo fan base with his play-making on offense.

This week Allen gets a match-up with a Bengals defense that is yielding over 400 yards of offense to their opponents this season. They’ve been bad against the run and the pass, which plays perfectly to Allen’s skill set as he is an athletic guy who loves to scramble.

He’s already run for 59 yards and two touchdowns this year and last year he had several games where he nearly ran for 100 yards.

The Bills are likely going to be without their dynamic young running back Devin Singletary, which makes old man Frank Gore an intriguing play. But it also means that we could see Allen run the ball on his own more often.

His improved passing (64% completion percentage this year) is great to see early on this year, but his rushing ability is what really gives him a high ceiling from a DFS perspective. I really think he can throw for 2-3 scores this week and run for another, making him an elite GPP play at only 5.9k. He’s going to be priced up with Lamar Jackson and Dak Prescott soon, mark my words – Josh Allen is legit!
