Daily fantasy golf: FanDuel picks – The 2019 Safeway Open
Daily fantasy golf: FanDuel PGA – Mid-tier picks ($10,000-$11,000)
Chez Reavie – $10,400 – (GPP)
There are a lot of names to like in this price range this week, but with the way my cash build is allowing to me to roster three golfers in the top-tier, they all look like strictly GPP plays. It is not for lack of safety by any means.
We have consistent cut-makers and even potential winners in Benny An, Francesco Molinari, and rookie phenom Collin Morikawa also returning to action in the upper half of this range, and another at the bottom half in Emiliano Grillo who is a past Safeway Open champion, and has also not missed a cut in four tries here at Silverado C.C..
One name that is standing out as someone I want some exposure to though is 37-year-old Chez Reavie, who had his best season in quite some time last year on the PGA Tour, and has also played well here at the Safeway Open over the last five years. He has not missed a cut in those five tries, has two top-25 finishes, and T-33 last year.
Reavie was consistent all year. He did miss a handful of cuts, but he came close to winning multiple times with three top-fives leading up to his win at the Travelers Championship, his first on tour in over ten years. Included in that span was Reavie’s run at the U.S. Open where he T-3, which took place the week before his win.
He then missed a couple of cuts after his win but rounded back into form just in time for the FedEx Cup playoffs. Chez finished the season with a T-5 finish at the TOUR Championship and ended up 8th in the final FedEx Cup standings. Reavie is a great cash play if you decide to go the balanced salary route, but this is GPP style cash game build for me this week.
