With the Oakland Raiders in desperate need of a win in Indianapolis, Derek Carr is living his best life at Lucas Oil Stadium.

The Oakland Raiders are in the midst of a crazy stretch of football where they will go from Week 3 until Week 9 without a game in their own stadium. That run kicked off with a loss in Minnesota last week, meaning the Raiders really needed a win today in Indianapolis, so Derek Carr has taken matters into his own hands.

Carr has been nearly perfect against the Colts, completing 20 of 30 passes for 186 yards and two touchdowns. The Raiders have built a 24-10 lead behind Carr’s masterful orchestration of their offense, which has shown far more life today than it had in the previous two games.

Carr has continued to build a bromance with tight end Darren Waller, completing six passes to him for 50 yards, while Tyrell Williams and Foster Moreau have caught the touchdowns from Carr. The big key for the Raiders has been that Carr has played mistake-free football, big progress after he tossed a combined three interceptions over his last two games.

All of Carr’s success through the air has opened up lanes for Oakland’s running game, which has racked up 151 yards on 26 carries. Jon Gruden has even gone deep into the playbook today, calling an end-around to Trevor Davis that went 60 yards to the house, and Carr has done a good job orchestrating the Oakland attack.

Assuming the Raiders close this game out, Oakland heads to London next week for a showdown with old friend Khalil Mack and the Chicago Bears. Considering the Bears’ ferocious defense, the Raiders will need another effort like this one out of Carr if they hope to score a win in the United Kingdom.
