Fantasy football waiver wire: Week 5 adds

What players should you add from the fantasy football waiver wire in Week 5 to bounce back and win some games?

A quarter of the football season is over and even more time has passed for fantasy football. It’s time for you to make a decision on your team. Whether you’re 0-4, 4-0 or somewhere in between, everyone can afford to make a roster decision or two off the fantasy football waiver wire.

There are a few players that had a good start to the 2019 season but still available in a lot of leagues. There are also some players with a favorable matchup for the upcoming week that need to be owned.

With the number of injuries piling up and two more teams on a bye week, Dolphins and Lions, owners are looking for some replacements to fill those spots. As for Miami, they don’t have many fantasy-relevant players. Detroit, on the other hand, have a few wide receivers, a tight end and a running back that are widely owned.

Unfortunately, going through the available players, there are not many to pick from, especially the skill positions. The running back situation for a lot of teams is a question mark at this point in the season. Wide receivers have a bit of a boost with the change to a pass-friendly league and in PPR leagues. Tight ends are hit or miss but there are a few that are heating up.

I have three quarterbacks, a running back, wide receiver, tight end and three defenses available for your consideration. All nine options are available in less than 50 percent of ESPN leagues.

Don’t make irrational moves. It’s only week 5 but the season is moving quickly. Your stars are your stars. The bench players are replaceable. You want to have a lot of options available to you should something happen to your best players.

Good luck and be smart.
