The Gypsy King could be involved in a WWE storyline following an appearance on Friday Night SmackDown.

The Lineal Heavyweight Champion Tyson Fury was one of many stars in attendance for WWE‘s big FOX debut on Friday Night SmackDown. Fury wasn’t just an attendee however; he was a part of the show. Fury was present at ringside during an eight-man tag match and was goaded into a fight by WWE Superstar Braun Strowman.

Fury, not one to back down, would jump the guard rail in an attempt to confront Strowman. He would be met by security and escorted away from ringside. WWE and fight fans have seen this episode before where athletes and celebrities cross over into wrestling. Most notably Floyd Mayweather Jr. faced off against the Big Show back at WrestleMania 24. This was a one-off David versus Goliath buildup that saw Mayweather victorious in his only WWE appearance.

Fury has some free time on his hands leading up to his rematch with Deontay Wilder in February of next year. Boxing’s ultimate showman could be attempting to generate more exposure from wrestling fans. Fury has been vocal about putting on a show for fight fans, competing in Las Vegas for the first time of his career in his last two bouts, successful title defenses in both.

Finished with both tune-up fights before his next bout, Fury could be looking to have some fun as well. During his last fights he was seen wearing a luchador mask at weigh-ins versus Otto Wallin and entered the ring versus Tom Schwarz dressed like Apollo Creed. Fury prides himself as an entertainer and the biggest sports entertainment brand in the world is the WWE.

Strowman is WWE’s resident Monster Among Men. A match featuring two giants, the Gypsy King versus the Monster Among Men would be entertaining and draw the attention of media outlets everywhere. Fury will possibly get a chance to stand face to face with Strowman on Monday Night Raw. As announced by WWE, Fury will have an open mic to discuss his encounter at SmackDown.

Crossovers always have the potential to excel. Fury aims to entertain and he will have one of the biggest stages to do so. Could he trade in his gloves for the squared circle? Perhaps Monday we will find out.
