For some unfortunate teams, five weeks of action isn’t too early to start looking at the 2020 NFL Draft order.

Somehow, someway, the Miami Dolphins found a way to lose a game during their bye week. Jokes aside, the Dolphins were able to escape adding another loss to their 0-4 record this week, though it’s possible they are so committed to tanking for Tua Tagovailoa that they will be disappointed they couldn’t secure a loss to get one step closer towards the Alabama quarterback.

As it stands right now, there are two 0-5 teams. The Cincinnati Bengals lost their fifth game to the team with the 2019 No. 1 pick in the Arizona Cardinals and should probably consider trading veteran players for future picks a la Miami. Meanwhile, the Washington Redskins, with lame-duck head coach Jay Gruden, unsurprisingly lost ugly to the New England Patriots.

The Denver Broncos can rest easy at 1-4. While they are also in a position to be trading veteran players away, the Joe Flacco-led (more like “running back-led”) Broncos upset the rival Los Angeles Chargers 20-13 in Week 5.

Consider the New York Jets next up, as they join the Dolphins at 0-4. Had they not been on a bye, they would have almost assuredly lost with second-year quarterback Sam Darnold still out with mono.

Below is the current 2020 NFL Draft order now that there are “only” four winless teams through five weeks of NFL play.

These standings are liable to change quickly, but the Chiefs, Patriots, Packers, and Saints look like pretty solid bets to be near the bottom of the order.

On the other end, the teams currently without a win are safely in contention for Tua, and others with one win such as the Steelers and Broncos should also be hoping for a new franchise quarterback. Ben Roethlisberger and Joe Flacco’s best days are safely behind them.
