Here’s more proof Patrick Mahomes isn’t human (Video)
Kansas City Chiefs quarterback Patrick Mahomes produces highlight reel plays that nobody else in NFL history could dream of making. The Indianapolis Colts witnessed that ability first-hand on Sunday Night Football.
In 2019, Patrick Mahomes is a man on a mission, and his mission isn’t to win the NFL MVP. No, it’s been there, done that for the quarterback who put up video game-like numbers in just his first season as a starter. Mahomes is on a mission to win the Super Bowl for the Kansas City Chiefs after knocking on the game’s doorstep last season, but, in the process of leading the Chiefs, he’ll surely win more awards and make more jaw-dropping plays.
Jaw-dropping plays like this one on Sunday Night Football against the Indianapolis Colts in Week 5.
Facing 3rd-and-18 at around the 30-yard line, Mahomes had to make something happen. The Colts were collapsing the pocket – and doing so effectively. Mahomes kept dropping back until it looked like the play was dead, but he somehow popped out to the right side unscathed before rifling an absolute rocket into the end zone.
Touchdown, Chiefs.
Chalk this one up as a 28-yard score to little-known receiver Byron Pringle to give the Chiefs a 10-7 lead over a dangerous Colts team that made the postseason in 2018. Speaking of Pringle, he has come out of nowhere to lead the Chiefs in receiving in this game with five receptions for 76 yards on six targets, including that touchdown.
Mahomes’ arm sure is incredible, and there may not be a single quarterback capable of making THAT throw on the run after backing out of THAT situation in the pocket.
What a player. And it’s no surprise to see that yet another receiver has emerged onto the scene in the Chiefs offense in Pringle, thanks to the sharp mind and golden arm of Patrick Mahomes.
