We’re back with another FanDuel NHL Blue Line Power Plays post for a big Tuesday night slate on October 8 2019.

The NHL season may still be young, and it’s hard to gauge how some of the early results will impact Fantasy Hockey this season, but we do have some hot trends to exploit, to maximize our FanDuel NHL lineups.

The fist team I looked for in the NHL schedule on Tuesday was the Rangers. I can’t believe I even wrote that just now. Once a dumpster-fire of a hockey organization, the Rangers actually look incredible to start this season. We’ll see how long it lasts, but it’s worth gauging for your fantasy hockey plays this week.

Unfortunately, the Ranges aren’t on the schedule today. But, fortunately, the smoking hot Red Wings first line is hosting the Ducks. However, the Ducks have been one of the more stingiest defenses to start the season. So, do we stick with the hot Detroit line? We’ll discuss.

There’s a big over/under line in Pittsburgh on Tuesday, so we should consider stacking, or at least cherry-picking, some of the Jets and Penguins top lines. The Panthers are always an offense to consider, regardless of how poor their defense and net-minding may be again.

The Predators host a Sharks team who gave up 12 goals in their first three games. That bodes well for a team starting the season scoring four goals per game. The Preds are another team to consider, especially with the tremendous value they have at the defense position.

And finally, the Flames host a porous Kings defense. Meanwhile, Calgary’s likely to score at least three to four goals against the Kings at home. And, the Flames have some of the best offensive players in the league, on their top line. The only problem may be, are they too expensive?

Here’s a look at the NHL schedule, and over/under goal totals, for Tuesday, October 8 2019:

Jets at Penguins (7:05pm EDT) Over/Under 6.5 goals

Stars at Capitals (7:05pm EDT) Over/Under 5.5 goals

Oilers at Islanders (7:05pm EDT) Over/Under 5.5 goals

Hurricanes at Panthers (7:05pm EDT) Over/Under 6 goals

Ducks at Red Wings (7:35pm EDT) Over/Under 5.5 goals

Sharks at Predators (8:05pm EDT) Over/Under 6 goals

Kings at Flames (9:05pm EDT) Over/Under 6 goals

Bruins at Golden Knights (10:05pm EDT) Over/Under 5.5 goals

As you can see, the Red Wings goal line is hard to accept. We have one of the hottest lines in hockey playing on their home ice, but folks in Vegas are telling us to be cautious. That’s something we’ll need to consider.

As always, we’ll look to update our picks and final lineups prior to lock on our twitter account @FantasyCPR or me @MattyMcMatt17 so make sure to give us a follow for all the late breaking lineup news.

Now let’s start building our NHL DFS optimal lineup by looking at the top centers for these slates…
