Dan Marino Division

8. Philip Rivers (LW: 5)

Rivers had to move down a few spots. The Chargers are dealing with injuries, yes, but Rivers has been awful in two of their three defeats. Brutal interceptions at the goal line in each, and while his overall numbers are solid (1,465 yards, seven TDs and four INTs) his play has varied far too much. Los Angeles needs him to be great.

7. Matt Ryan (LW: 8)

Ryan is polarizing. Some believe he’s terrific, some see him as overrated. Personally? Ryan is playing behind a horrid offensive line with bad coaching and a spotty running game. He’s basically the only chance Atlanta has every week. The interceptions are too high (seven) but he’s competing 70.5 percent of his throws and has 11 touchdown passes, only one off the league lead.

6. Dak Prescott (LW: 6)

Prescott didn’t have his finest outing on Sunday against the Packers. The former Mississippi State star threw three interceptions, culminating in a 34-24 loss. Prescott hasn’t been on fire over the past two weeks, and it’s fair to wonder if both he and the Cowboys collectively were looking a bit better than their reality playing creampuffs over the first three games.

5. Aaron Rodgers (LW: 3)

Rodgers ranks 29th. in touchdown percentage, so he drops out of the top group. He’s only thrown for 1,307 yards on 7.1 yards per attempt with six touchdowns. Hardly Rodgers-type numbers. Now, he stays high on the list because of his pedigree, and the fact it’s a new offense.
