4. Deshaun Watson (LW: 7)

Watson had a monster game on Sunday. Shockingly, it comes the same day he isn’t sacked. Yeah, the Falcons can’t defend, but Watson went berserk for 426 yards (on 12.9 YPA) and five touchdowns, giving him 11 for the season. Next, the Texans get the Chiefs and that defense. More numbers incoming.

3. Tom Brady (LW: 2)

Brady has been fine to this point. He’s averaging 7.5 yards per attempt and has thrown 10 touchdowns. However, he’s also throwing horrid picks at the goal line and, frankly, the offense has sputtered a bit the past two weeks. Of course, that’s nitpicking, since he’s ranked third.

2. Russell Wilson (LW: 4)

Wilson has to be in the MVP conversation with Patrick Mahomes. He’s leading the league with 12 touchdown passes despite playing in a run-first (and second) offense. The Seahawks are 4-1 largely because Wilson is a magician and the most underrated player in the game today.

1. Patrick Mahomes (LW: 1)

Mahomes will likely be in this spot for quite some time. The Chiefs were atrocious on Sunday night in a 19-13 loss, but Mahomes quietly went for another 300 yards and a touchdown — and a damn memorable one, at that. His numbers are coming back to earth, but he’s still the leading passer with 1,831 yards while averaging 9.4 yards per attempt. Insane.
