Here are the key course stats and the value picks that can exploit them at the Houston Open this weekend.

Happy October PGA DFS Fans! After an exciting finish at the Shriners Open which had much flipping back and forth between the football games and the playoff between Kevin Na vs Patrick Cantlay, we continue our swing season into Texas for the Houston Open.

Kevin Na was able to outlast Patrick Cantlay after replaying the 18th hole 3 times in a sudden-death winner take all fashion. What lead to a seemingly “Match Play” style 4th round all throughout Sunday between the two, eventually lead to Na “out-putting” Patrick down the stretch as he did all week.

Nailing over 500ft of putts since Monday, Na is now the first player on Tour in 15 years to win with a negative amount of Strokes Gained Tee to Green. He gained +11.42 Strokes on the greens, an accomplishment that’s truly remarkable, and really puts emphasis on us Fantasy Players to start weighing in putting surfaces in regards to players’ tendencies.

Another thing to take away from last week’s emotional win is that yet another Las Vegas local took home the Shriners. As a resident of Nevada, Kevin Na truly had the support of the fans all week as well as the comfort of course familiarity which led to a much-deserved win. He is now rumored to be one of Tiger Woods potential President’s Cup Captain Picks representing USA.

The Houston Open is famous as being the last tune-up leading to the Masters in late March into early April. With the scheduling change that was implemented for the 2020 season, it has now dropped back into the fall swing. If you’re a baseball fan you’ll be interested to know that the Houston Astros Foundation now sponsors this event and will continue to do so for the next 5 seasons. This, however, comes with a rotating course schedule, as it will move on from its current course setup to another neighboring one next year, and so forth.

This year however it stays at The Golf Club of Houston, as it has done so in 13 previous seasons.
