Fantasy Football: Week six position by position rankings
Defense/Special Teams
The Eagles defense had the best matchup last week, getting the last week of a Luke Falk-led Jets team, and boy did they take advantage of it. 10 sacks, a fumble recovery, two interceptions, and two touchdowns later they posted an incredible 35 fantasy points.
The 49ers got to Baker Mayfield on defense as well, racking up four sacks, two picks, and two fumble recoveries on their way to 19 points. The Patriots D eventually found their groove against the Redskins and were the third best fantasy defense of week five, and the Vikings and Steelers rounded out the top five with 13 points each.
The Bears surprisingly got lit up by the Raiders, and the Raiders, Broncos, and Colts D/STs found themselves in the top ten for week five despite some tough matchups. I had the Eagles top four and the Patriots accurately top three. I was one spot off on the Bills.

Patriots at one is a no-brainer. The best defense in the league to this point with another great matchup. The Giants will be without Saquon Barkley, Wayne Gallman, Sterling Shepard, and Evan Engram. If the Patriots aren’t the number one defense this week I will be absolutely shocked.
The Ravens should be able to get to Andy Dalton, and even thought the Redskins aren’t great the Dolphins are still that bad on offense to make their D a top three play. The Seahawks could be the beneficiary of more errant play from Baker Mayfield, and the Chargers will likely face a QB that next to no one heard of before last Sunday.
The Rams will face a 49ers offense that has really been clicking through the air and on the ground this season. The Jaguars will take on a Saints offense that broke out last week against Tampa Bay. The Steelers are coming off of a top five performance in week five, but will face a Chargers offense looking to bounce back after a disappointing performance last week, with Melvin Gordon now having a game under his belt.
