PGA DFS: CJ Cup Course Preview, Stats and Value Plays

Joel Dahmen

Joel competed at the CJ Cup in 2018 where he finished at a respectable T29th place. Putting lights out on the Shriners Bentgrass as well, and squeezing into a T9th, Dahmen has found himself gaining 3.8 SG T2G over his last 5 events. He has popped up in a few of my personal model builds, over the last 12 events he ranks 2nd in SG ARG, and 7th in Par 5 efficiency 550-600 yards, an important area to target this week.

More from Fantasy Golf

I like him to ride his little streak of great recent form and push towards a Top 20 in Korea. Joel really needs another breakout season, he has what it takes as he pushed himself into Medinah during the PGA Playoffs finishing in the top 30 among the best player in the world. If he can put his entire game together he has great potential.

Favorite PUNT PLAY:

Youngjun Bae

This play comes with considerable risk but with great potential. YoungJun is a high school senior at Daejeon Physical Education High School and an amateur golf phenom in the country of South Korea. He won the “Chungkoo Cup” the Korean Amateur Golf Championship in early September firing 277 over 4 rounds at -11. He is now a two-time winner of the Korean Amateur golf championships and has earned an exemption into this year’s CJ Cup.

Over his last 11 Events across the Asian Tours and Korean Amateur Tournaments, Youngjun has a whopping 2 wins, a 2nd place finish, a third-place finish and 4 top tens. We are going strictly off being at home, having the support of his fellow countrymen and riding his streak of amazingly great recent form, especially on courses of a similar setup. At a near-minimum price on both sites, I can envision very little ownership- with no cut this week, it’s definitely worth a shot.
