WWE NXT preview for October 16, 2019: Watch online
By Matt Black
Everything you need to know to prepare you for the upcoming edition of WWE NXT for October 16 on the USA Network.
This week, Tommaso Ciampa wrestles his first match in months after an injury back in March sidelined the former NXT Champion and forced him to forfeit his championship that he lovingly refers to as “Goldy.” His road back to said championship starts tonight as he goes one-on-one with Angel Garza.
One would imagine not only will current NXT Champion Adam Cole be watching closely tonight but the leader of Balor Club, the former WWE Universal Champion Finn Balor should be watching on with vested interest. Who will get the first crack at Cole’s title? Hopefully, those questions will be answered this week.

Also tonight, former NXT United Kingdom Champion Pete Dunne will be in action against Damian Priest. A few weeks ago, Priest attacked Dunne after his match laying him out to make a name for himself in the black and gold brand. Did Priest bite off more than he could chew? Or will the Bruiserweight fall to the Archer of Infamy?
This is the current line up of what we can expect to see this Wednesday night on WWE NXT:
– Tommaso Ciampa goes one-on-one with Angel Garza
– Pete Dunne looks for revenge as he faces Damian Priest for the first time
– Keith Lee and Dominik Dijakovic face off in their highly anticipated rubber match
– Tegan Nox makes her long-awaited return to the black and gold brand
After last week’s episode, we feel like NXT has a lot to prove. A bounce-back show is needed to show they can run a two-hour weekly show consistently. What happens tonight should go a long way in determining what happens to the black and gold brand moving forward.
