Patrick Mahomes appeared to suffer a nasty knee injury early in the second quarter of Thursday night’s game against the Denver Broncos.

Disaster seemed to strike in the second quarter of tonight’s game against the Kansas City Chiefs and the Denver Broncos when Patrick Mahomes went down with what initially looked like a brutal knee injury.

He was laying on the ground and naturally Chiefs fans, and all NFL fans for that matter were worried.

The look of it from the television broadcast is that it may have been a kneecap dislocation. It certainly did not end up looking like a major injury as Mahomes was able to walk to the locker room under his own power.

That is not to discount the pain of potentially dislocating a kneecap and having it popped back in.

More updates are coming but any injury to Mahomes is major news both tonight and moving forward. He already came into tonight dealing with some injury issues and had to fight through on a short week.

We will anxiously wait and see what the diagnosis is tonight. Even if he is cleared to go Andy Reid will have to think if he wants to put the young star back into the game.

Taking a loss tonight without Mahomes may be a better option than rushing him back on the field if he is not feeling great. Losing him for the season would be an absolute travesty for the league and a disaster for the Chiefs.
