Patrick Mahomes has been ruled out of Thursday night’s game after suffering a knee injury. The Twitter reaction is one filled with doom.

Patrick Mahomes and the Kansas City Chiefs were cruising toward another touchdown when a quarterback sneak was called.

That was Mahomes’ final play of the night as he left with a knee injury. He made it off under his own power, but being ruled out of the game right away was not a good sign.

Right now it is not known just how bad the injury is for the star quarterback. It appears as if the training staff popped his knee back into place, but we have to wait to see if there is any major damage.

Now, of course, is the time for panic. Twitter is a great place to get instant reactions and that is true with this situation.

The obvious hope is that this is only a short-term injury and that the knee combined with his ankle was just too much to push him through.

The conversation after the game may revolve around Mahomes sneaking it in that situation. That revolves around hindsight but the question will be asked given the existing ankle injury.

Win or lose, Chiefs fans are going to be awaiting word about Mahomes. If he only has to miss a few weeks the team should be fine. If it is a long-term injury, there is always time to make a trade.

Yet that won’t stop the doom from the Chiefs fanbase. I can’t blame them.
